Xingyi Wood

In Wood (Beng), the front hand blocks downward much like Tai Chi Brush Knee, which pulls the rear striking hand which shoots out like an arrow.

The front hand’s brush knee type downward block and forward step are propelled with the forward drop; which is controlled by the rear foot and focused with the front foot.

The brush knee and forward foot movement, propel the rear reverse punch, with the feeling of releasing an arrow.

Xingyi Wood (Beng) options:
  1. use a downward inside-to-outside block, then a reverse punch or
  2. do a downward sweeping motion that carries you forward, then a reverse punch in place or
  3. clear the area in downward area of the opponent with a sweep that carries you forward and creates an opening that is fed with a stepping reverse punch.
